Marie Toner-Cormier was born January 11th, 1964 in Kitchener, Ontario. She grew up in Calgary and spent many hours drawing, her favorite subjects being animals. Art was put aside for nearly a decade and in late 2002 she decided to pick up a pencil again to see if she still ‘had it’. Completely self-taught, she added colour to her art with coloured pencils. Being an animal lover, she concentrates on Pet Portraiture and strives for photo-realism in her drawings. Working from photographs, her attention to detail uniquely captures the personality of her clients beloved pets. She has had many private clients in the Victoria area.
